Virtual exhibition ‘Living with Landslides’

The photo exhibition Living with Landslides was organised by Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering (University of Zagreb), Faculty of Civil Engineering (University of Rijeka), City Office for Strategic Planning and Development of the City of Zagreb and Emergency Management Office of the City of Zagreb. This exhibition was an accompanying event of the 1st Regional Symposium on Landslides in the Adriatic-Balkan Region which was held in Zagreb from 7th to 9th March 2013 under the auspices of the International Consortium on Landslides (ICL) and ICL Adriatic Balkan Network (ICL ABN).

The exhibited photos were taken by scientists and engineers during their field trips and they are meant to be shared with all the others interested in landslides. Every landslide has its own story, and every photo is accompanied by a short explanation that describes the content of the photo. The exhibition presents 35 photos taken by 24 photographers from 8 countries. The Jury selected three best photos out of these 35 interesting landslide images accompanied by their stories:  1. Prize– Teodor Burilescu (Romania); 2. Prize– Toni Nikolić (Bosnia and Herzegovina); 3. Prize– Željko Arbanas (Croatia).

We are inviting you to see these landslides and read their stories in our virtual gallery.
